Despite being one of this year’s most anticipated racing game releases, Nacon has been quiet about Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. We haven’t had any new gameplay or details since The Racer trailer dropped in December, showcasing a Corvette CR7 burning rubber on the streets of Hong Kong Island.
Thankfully, Nacon will break the silence soon, with Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown set to feature in next week’s Nacon Connect 2024 conference.
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown confirmed for Nacon Connect 2024
Streaming on 29 February, Nacon Connect 2024 is set to feature “30 minutes of all-new videos" showcasing the publisher's accessories and upcoming game releases including Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.
Other games that will be shown include Ravenswatch, Crown Wars: The Black Prince, GreedFall II: The Dying World, a Terminator game and "a few other announcements,” so there could be a few surprises.
Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator can also be seen briefly in the Nacon Connect 2024.
Will we find out Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown’s release date?
Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown become a staple of Nacon Connect shows over the last couple of years. It’s not clear exactly what will be shown, but we’re expecting to see a new trailer showing new gameplay footage. There’s also a good chance we’ll find out the all-important release date after the open-world racer was delayed multiple times.
According to Nacon’s latest financial earnings report, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown is still expected to arrive in Q4 of the 2023 financial year ending 31 March 2024. As we head into the end of February, a March release seems unlikely.
Considering the lack of marketing so far this year, it won't be surprising if Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown gets delayed until the summer or later this year. Nacon has publicly advertised it will arrive in 2024, but we'll hopefully get a firm release date at Nacon Connect 2024 along with a fresh look at TDUSC’s cars, location, and social elements.
