Competition Company's promising new sim racer is generating a lot of buzz, but when is Rennsport coming out?
A new sim racing challenger is coming to take on iRacing, rFactor 2, and Assetto Corsa. That challenger is called Rennsport (that’s German for “racing”), a new Unreal Engine 5 sim racing game in the works by Germany’s Competition Company with a focus on modding and esports.

Sim racing fans are eager to find out if it can beat the competition, but when is Rennsport coming out? Here’s everything we know about the Rennsport release date.
When is Rennsport coming out?
Competition Company is targeting a December 2023 release window for Rennsport. But you can try Rennsport for yourself several months before then.
Rennsport beta
A closed Rennsport beta is taking place in June 2023, giving players an early look at the promising sim racer with a handful of cars and tracks. Only selected players will gain access by signing up for the beta on Rennsport’s website.
If you don’t get into the closed beta, don’t worry because Competition Company is planning an open beta later this year.

Unlike the closed beta, all players can access the free-to-play sim racer in the open beta and find out how it stacks up against the established titans of iRacing, rFactor 2, and Assetto Corsa Competizione.
Platforms
As for platforms, Rennsport will initially only be out on PC. This will allow for community modding support, the best possible physics, and high-fidelity visuals on powerful hardware. However, Rennsport may be ported to consoles in the future.

Speaking with RaceDepartment, Competition Company says “console versions are planned for post-release updates.” Assetto Corsa Competizione is the only serious racing simulator on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S right now, but this could change in the future if Rennsport comes to consoles.
