Is rFactor 2 good?

A lot of gamers who haven't played this racing simulation game will be wondering this before considering purchasing it.

We give our take on the state of rFactor 2 heading into 2023!

Is rFactor 2 good?

rFactor 2 celebrates a decade of being live in 2023 and the game isn't showing its age. With regular updates expanding the content available and improving the look of the game, rFactor 2 could be released today and still be a success.

There's no serious talk of an rFactor 3 being in the works for a few reasons. The first is that rFactor 2 is still extremely popular and the other is that the developers Studio 397 have invested so much time and effort into rF2.

What's in rFactor 2?

There's so much content in rFactor 2 that it'd almost be quicker to list what isn't in the game. Officially-licenced cars from series such as IndyCar, Formula E, BTCC, WEC and GT3 are all in this game.

You will need to purchase these from the Steam store, but if you're a fan of these series, there's no better way to experience them digitally.

As for the circuits, there's a lot here too. Everything from the high-speed Monza and Spa to Formula E city circuits like Hong Kong and Diriyah.

So, while it's not the cheapest, rFactor 2 does have a lot of content. Something to bear in mind too is that most games have yearly releases, but with rFactor 2, it could in theory be around forever.

What systems is rFactor 2 on?

rFactor 2 is a PC-exclusive racing game. The game has evolved over the past ten years, but no console port has emerged in that time.

The developers have instead worked on refining and improving the PC version over making other versions.

The rapid progress of rFactor means that consoles cannot keep up in the same way that gaming PCs can. Looking at the system requirements for rFactor 2 will show you that this is one of the most demanding games available.
