Forza Horizon 5 High Performance Series adds Oval Circuit and 4 new cars

During April’s Forza Monthly show, Playground Games previewed the new High Performance Series as the current Midnights at Horizon Series comes to an end.

Starting this week on 27 April, the High Performance Series is set to add a new Oval Circuit to Mexico along with four brand new track-focused cars making their Forza debut.

Here’s everything we can look forward to in the Forza Horizon 5 High Performance Series.

New cars

Four new cars are coming to Forza Horizon 5 as unlockable reward cars in the seasonal High Performance Festival Playlists.

These include the Lamborghini Huracan STO, Porsche 935, 2021 Audi RS 6, and Porsche Mission R. Recently appearing in iRacing and Rennsport, the electric Porsche Mission R concept will make its console racing game debut in Forza Horizon 5.

Horizon Oval Circuit

The Horizon Stadium is being converted into an Oval Circuit for the High Performance Series, allowing you to put the new cars through their paces.

Decorated with “race-inspired props,” the Oval Circuit can be explored in free roam and will also become a permanent race route.

Players can launch the Horizon Oval Circuit as a Road Racing event for solo, cooperative and competitive play, set their fastest leaderboard lap time on it in Rivals and even use it as a new EventLab build stub.

20 new accolades have been added for the Horizon Oval Circuit along with a new series car collector accolade. In addition, Six PR Stunts are turning with with four Speed Traps including Horizon Baja, East Resort, Pantano Pass and Tulum, as well as the Green Hills and River Run Speed Zones.

High Performance Festival Playlist reward cars

A variety of high-performance cars can be unlocked in next month's Festival Playlists. In terms of Season reward cars, you can unlock the Ferrari 599XX at 80 points and the legendary McLaren F1 at 160 points.

Summer

Summer’s playlist includes the Lamborghini Huracan STO (20 points) and KTM X-Box GT4 (40 points) as Season Progress reward cars.

You can also get the 2013 Ariel Atom V8 500, Lotus Elise GT1, 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer GSR, 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo, 2019 Porsche 911, 2012 BMWS M5, and 2013 Dodge Viper in Seasonal challenges. Rally Adventure expansion owners can also win the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

Autumn

In Autumn, the #70 Porsche 935 (20 points) and NIO EP9 (40 points) are up for grabs as Season Progress reward cars.

Other reward cars you can win in the Autumn playlist are the 2015 Corvette Z06, TVR Griffith, 2013 BMW M6, KTM X-Bow and Porsche Panamera. The 2016 Ford Mustang can also be won in the Hot Wheels seasonal championship.

Winter

Moving onto Winter, the Season Progress reward cars are the 2021 Audi RS6 (20 points) and Noble M600 (40 points).

For now, Playground Games is keeping the remaining prize cars under wraps.

Spring

Finally, the Spring playlist features the Porsche Mission R (20 points) and 2015 Jaguar XKR-S (40 points) Season Progress reward cars.

Other season challenge reward cars include the Ferrari 458, 2011 Volkswagen Scirocco, 2014 HSV Maloo, 1992 Honda NSX-R, and 2008 Dodge Viper. Hot Wheels expansion owners can also get the Mercedes-Benz C63 as a prize car in the Seasonal Championship.

High Performance Series update patch notes

As highlighted in the patch notes, a new game update has launched alongside the High Performance Series containing numerous bug fixes for the Rally Adventure expansion and base game to improve the experience based on feedback.

General

  • Fixed an issue where sometimes #ForzaThon Weekly Challenges were getting reset after restarting the game
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes roads were not marked as discovered on the map
  • Fixed an issue with the Auction House where searching by just "Car Type" couldn't return any results
  • Fixed an issue where the HUD could remain stuck at the center of the screen while using an Ultrawide monitor on Xbox
  • General performance and stability fixes

Cars

  • Fixed an issue where the Anti-lag exhaust animation was not displayed correctly on the 2000 Nissan Silvia SpecR while a RocketBunny wide bodykit is installed
    • Developer's note: We are aware of the Anti-lag exhaust animation issue with other cars mounting the RocketBunny wide bodykit and we plan to address those in the future
  • Fixed an issue where rollcages were not displayed correctly when a StreetFighter LA bodykit was applied
  • Fixed an issue with the 2004 Subaru WRX STi where the front bumper sticker shading was inconsistent when combined with some paints and bumper parts
  • Fixed an issue with the 1964 Emory 356 C incorrectly displayed as model year 1960

Accolades

  • Fixed an issue with "Change of Scenery" accolade starting location listed as Gran Pantano in the accolades menu and Pantano de La Selva when pinned
  • Fixed an issue with "Photogenic" accolade which displayed wrong numbers in the description
  • Fixed an issue with "Unbeatable" Road/Dirt/Cross Country/Street Racing accolades incorrectly stating players needed to win 10 races in a row to be achieved

EventLab

  • Improvements made to EventLab rules not working in Multiplayer and/or causing players desync

Multiplayer

  • Fixed an issue where Festival Outpost could display inconsistently during races
  • Fixed an issue in the Trial where AI cars PI were not scaling accordingly to players' car PI
