After months of anticipation, Gaming Factory has rolled out the 1.7.0 update for JDM: Japanese Drift Master, which brings some of the most desired features and significant enhancements to the game.

The update went live at 7:00 PM CEST (6:00 PM UK / 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT) on September 29, and to celebrate, the game is currently available at a 30% discount on Steam during the Autumn Sale 2025.

With a new vehicle, brand-new tracks, advanced customization options, performance enhancements, and a side story campaign, update 1.7.0 is among the most content-rich releases to date. Here's a look at everything new.

The Biggest Additions in Patch 1.7.0

Here are some of the biggest additions in patch 1.7.0:

Nissan GT-R R35 Joins the Roster

The highlight of the update is the Nissan GT-R 35, a long-awaited addition that is finally making its debut. It launches with six body kits, all of which are free for players, but the car itself must be purchased using in-game credits.

The R35 has its own recognizable AWD configuration, but if you want to make it a true drift build, you can have it converted to RWD at the tuning shop.

Two New Racing Tracks

Version 1.7.0 introduces two very different racing environments:

  • Hakome Stadium - A stadium arena built for high-intensity racing, accessible through Ichikara East. A race-of-champions layout and boisterous crowds are expected.
  • Takekaze Tōge - A challenging mountain road at the foot of a volcano, hidden within bamboo forests. It is located in the map's northwest quadrant.

Both tracks are accessible in Challenge Mode and in the open world.

Side Story Campaign – “Tiger”

Story expansion in Japanese Drift Master continues with the Tiger campaign, which expands on the backstory of Naoto Date, one of the key rivals of the game. Childhood aspirations, grief, and a road to atonement are all covered in his trip.

  • 9 new events (11 races total)
  • Unique manga panels in JDM’s signature style
  • Unlockable boss car reward after completion

After completing Chapter 02, Mission 01, this campaign becomes accessible.

Wheel & Rim Customization

Wheel customization is more extensive than ever for stance enthusiasts and tuners:

  • Independent front and rear tire adjustments
  • Rim diameter, width, and offset settings
  • Tire profile changes (low, medium, high)
  • Spacer and rim lip modifications

Players don't have to worry about handling penalties because these upgrades are only cosmetic.

Performance & Graphics Enhancements

Update 1.7.0 includes a significant technological overhaul in addition to content changes:

  • XeSS 2.1.1.1 (Intel/AMD) with Frame Generation & Low Latency
  • DLSS Multi-Frame Generation support for Nvidia RTX 5000 series
  • Faster load times and removed loading screens when visiting shops from the main menu
  • Optimized streaming and reduced memory usage in demanding areas
  • Improved support for handheld devices with dedicated presets

Side Mission & Gameplay Improvements

Underground Races: Rebalanced wet races and weather conditions are now displayed.

  • Sushi Delivery Missions: Play in your own car instead of being locked to the Laurel
  • Landmarks: Kaguchi Valley and Inadani Village's identification problems have been resolved.
  • Physics Tuning: Adjustments to FWD, AWD, and arcade physics models
