With just over a month until release, EA’s teaser campaign for Need for Speed Unbound is kicking into high gear. After last week’s gameplay trailer showcased the game’s high-speed cop chases, EA has released several short gameplay videos showing off the car customisation in Need for Speed Unbound.
Over 10,000 car customisation options
Featuring the “most extreme expression of customisation ever seen in Need for Speed,” Unbound will have over 10,000 car customisation options according to EA. These include new wraps, cutaways, and rims that dramatically alter your car's appearance.
One of the videos shows a BMW M1 and Land Rover being decked out with body kits featuring massive spoilers, flared wheel arches, and lower ride heights. These "Legendary Customs" will be truly one-of-a-kind and make you stand out from the crowd.
Unbound will offer deeper levels of customisation beyond applying body kits, though. For the first time in the series, panels such as roofs and bumpers can be removed, revealing the car’s working mechanics.
The videos also show how you can customise your car’s rims with a variety of designs.
There will also be a new livery editor allowing you to create eye-catching decals with designs, fonts, and street art from “leading fashion innovators.” These designs are inspired by “the best in car culture” and “the freshest street art.”
Combined with the distinctive visual driving effects and audio samples you can express yourself with, Need for Speed Unbound is taking car customisation to the next level.
With more extensive levels of customisation than ever before, fans of Need for Speed Underground are going to have a field day.
