These are our biggest tips and tricks to help you out in Rocket Racing! Rocket Racing has been a lot of fun since it went live earlier this month.

A new Rocket League Racing game was rumoured for a long time, and it's now available as a spin-off within Fortnite. We've already shown you how to drift in Rocket Racing, but how else can you win races in the game?

We've got you covered with our Rocket Racing tips and tricks article right here!

Rocket Racing Tips and Tricks

As we mentioned before, drifting is one of the best ways to be quick while racing in Rocket Racing. We've already gone in-depth with this in another article, but we'll summarise it here.

Drifting not only provides you with a steady, consistent way to get around corners, but it also gives you the opportunity to build up boost.

To drift in a corner, you need to move the left stick in the direction you want to drift (either left or right) and press the handbrake, which is "X" on Xbox or "Square" on PlayStation.

You'll need to time your drifts perfectly, though, as going too early can easily end with you in the inside barriers.

Don't forget that you can double drift as well and this can help you get around longer, tighter corners!

Get off to a good start

Something that you can easily miss is that you can get off to the perfect start in Rocket Racing, quite literally.

If you hit the throttle just before the starting lights go green, you'll nail the boost start and get out in front heading into the first corner. Just be sure not to hit the throttle too early or you will end up losing time.

Drafting & boost

Not to be confused with drifting, drafting is another way to get a boost of a different kind in Rocket Racing. You can draft by getting in the slipstream of a car ahead and getting a speed increase as a result.

If you're struggling to catch up to the leaders, this can give you the slingshot you need to get ahead.

When it comes to boosting, make sure you save it for the right time. You should avoid using it at first and use the majority of it towards the end of the race, especially if you're out in front.

If you are towards the back of the grid, you should use boosts earlier though, as this will allow you to catch up to the leaders.

Aside from that, being consistent with your driving is the key to success, and ensuring you're in and around the front going around the final lap will serve you well for a good finishing position.

Get enough good finishes as you'll be able to get up to Gold level and earn rewards like the unique Jackie skin.
