F1 22 celebrates Lunar New Year

A surprise F1 22 update at the start of the week was nice enough, but now Podium Pass Season 5 has arrived!

The new season brings with it a huge celebration of Lunar New Year, hitting this year on 22 January.

While some are already looking ahead to F1 23, plenty of racers are still pounding around on F1 22. So what do they have to look forward to? Let's find out!

F1 22 Podium Pass Season 5

As always, there is a free Podium Pass and a VIP tier. Those not wanting to pay can still earn 12 rewards through the 30 tiers of the new Podium Pass.

These include new Badge Emblems, a set of gloves, and a race suit.

However, the big stuff is as always in the VIP tier.

There are three full sets of Lunar New Year gear to earn. These include Rabbit, Lion, and Dragon-themed suits, helmets, gloves, and liveries.

As ever, you can also earn enough PitCoins through the VIP tier to pay for the next one should Season 6 make it to F1 22.

F1 23 release date

While there is no official announcement about the F1 23 release date, we expect it to arrive in late June/early July as usual.

Codemasters is likely to give us a reveal trailer around April, with features and updated content getting shown off in May.

That's the usual timeline anyway, but perhaps things will be bought forward. After all, every other EA Sports title launches around the start of each season rather than in the middle of it.
