After months of anticipation, F1 Manager 2022 is finally here. While a few key features are missing, it lives up to the hype. This is a sterling first effort from Frontier Developments that immerses you into the world of F1.
Following the digital-only early access release, a physical version of F1 Manager 2022 was released on 30 August. Sales data from GFK Entertainment compiled by UKie reveals how F1 Manager 2022 performed in its debut week in the UK physical game sales charts.
F1 Manager 2022 debuts at number 4 in UK sales charts
F1 Manager 2022 sales are off to a strong start. In its first week of sale, F1 Manager 2022 debuted at number four in the UK physical game sales charts, finishing behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Part 1.
It also beat Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which slipped from number four to number five week-on-week, and Saints Row, which dropped from number one to number six.
Also, keep in mind the charts only count physical game sales – digital sales are likely to be even higher when you factor in the five-day early access period.
As for individual formats, F1 Manager 2022 raced to number one in the PlayStation 4 physical game sales charts. It was also the second best-selling PlayStation 5 title and third best-selling Xbox Series X|S game for the week ending 3 September.
Its strong sales performance bodes well for the future of the series. If this sales momentum continues, we’re hoping Frontier Developments can add requested features like custom teams in future F1 Manager sequels.
