F1 23 has been out for almost a month now on a variety of platforms. Fans unsure whether to buy the game yet have all been asking the same question: is F1 23 free on EA Play / Game Pass?
It’s a good question, especially for those not wanting to commit to F1 23 after the disappointment of F1 22.
Is F1 23 free on EA Play / Game Pass?
F1 fans currently subscribed to EA Play can start celebrating, but maybe not for too long.
F1 23 has a free trial on EA Play, but players can only hit the track for five hours. That’s not much time to go racing, but to soften the blow players can also earn a bonus 5k XP every month once they do purchase the game.
EA Play Pro members don’t have access to the free trial, but once they buy the game they will get full access to the Champions Edition. This includes the Max Verstappen designed items, the four new My Team icons, F1 World Bumper Pack, and 18k pit coins. EA Play Pro members also gain the 5k XP monthly bonus.

Unfortunately, there's bad news for Game Pass subscribers. F1 23 isn’t currently available on Game Pass, and likely won’t be until at least 2024.
F1 22 came to Game Pass in March 2023 so we’re guessing it’ll be around the same time next year for F1 23. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, however, will be able to access the five-hour free trial with their EA Play membership.
Williams 800th race livery comes to F1 23
To celebrate their 800th race in F1, Williams unveiled their spectacular one-off livery for this year’s British Grand Prix. Like the Red Bull Miami and McLaren Triple Crown liveries, this limited edition livery will be coming to F1 23.
To claim the livery, all you have to do is log in to F1 23 between 10 - 23 July and you’ll be able to go racing in this iconic Williams livery.

This also raises the question if we will also get the McLaren Chrome livery in F1 23, but we’ll have to wait and see for now.
F1 World being used as a means to drop these liveries into F1 23 is much appreciated by fans and is exactly the sort of content the series has been crying out for.
