After Series 11 Rami’s Racing History entered the final season last week, Playground Games unveiled what players can look forward to in Forza Horizon 5 Series 12 during September’s Forza Monthly stream, which aired a few days later than planned.
Forza Horizon 5 Series 12: Horizon Road Trip
Starting on 15 September, Forza Horizon 5 Series 12 (Playground Games has technically moved away from numbered series) will be called Horizon Road Trip.
Described as a “love letter to racing,” each week focuses on a different type of racing in Mexico from road to street racing. Each Festival Playlist will also featurea longer Seasonal Championship with five racing events instead of the usual three.
Thirteen new cars are coming to FH5 in Horizon Road Trip, three of which are new to the Forze franchise and two return from previous Forza games. Series Progress reward cars include the electrifying Audi RS e-tron GT (80 points) and McLaren 765LT (160 points).
The hero car of Series 12, the RS GT e-tron is new to Forza, packing two electric motors producing a combined 670 horsepower. You may recognise it from the concept car's appearance in Avengers Endgame, where it was driven by Iron Man himself, Tony Stark.
You can also take the RS GT-e-tron for a test drive in the monthly Forza EV Rivals event on Emerald Circuit.
Summer will have a road racing theme. One of the events will be a Seasonal Championship Road Endurance with five races instead of the usual three.
Summer’s Season Progress cars are the Bentley Turbo R '92 (20 points) and MG MG3 (40 points). Other reward cars include the BMW M4 ’14, Chevrolet Camaro ’15, KTM X-Bow, and Caterham R500. The Hot Wheels event reward car in this season is the BMW M3 ’97.
Autumn will have a cross-country theme, with Season Progress reward cars including the Audi RS7 Sportback ‘21 (20 points), which makes its Forza debut in Horizon Road Trip, and Toyota 4Runner (40 points).
In contrast to the all-electric RS GT e-tron, the RS Sportback utilises a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. No other reward cars were shown for this season.
Winter is all about street racing. The third reward car that’s new to Forza, the Lynk & Co 3+ is rewarded at 20 points. The Donkervoort GTO can also be yours at 40 points.
The only other Wint reward car shown during the Forza Monthly Show was the Mosler MT900S.
Spring concludes Horizon Road Trip with a dirt racing theme and rally-themed car restrictions. One event will have you tearing up the dirt in Ken Block’s Hoonigan RS200.
The Season Progress reward cars are the Nissan Nismo Sentra (20 points) and Ferrari 512TR (40 points). You can also earn the #65 Porsche 911 Desert in this season.
New body kits
New striking body kits will also be added. These include the ADRO USA widebody for the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N and the APR Performance Inc. widebody for the 2010 Volkswagen Golf R.
Furthermore, a new Amplification clothing category will add new character customisation options. For the first time, you'll be able to apply hearing aids to your character avatar in various colours.
The update will also add a novelty Tankito Dorito outfit for your player avatar.
