Forza Motorsport Update 1.1 Fixes Freezing Issue

Although Forza Motorsport’s massive update 1.0 patch squashed some bugs and improved the car progression system last week, a few lingering issues under the bonnet still need repairing.

One week later, Turn 10 has confirmed that a hotfix is dropping today, with update 1.1 resolving one of the most widely reported issues.

Forza Motorsport Update 1.1 patch notes

Forza Motorsport's launch has been rocky, with some players experiencing an issue where the load screen gets stuck after upgrading or buying cars.

With no option but to restart the game, some players are losing career progress after resuming the game. In worse cases, others can’t access the game as the bug sometimes corrupts save files. Players reported this issue wasn't resolved in update 1.0.

However, update 1.1 will “help mitigate” this issue and improve stability on all platforms, as the patch notes reveal:

Stability [All Platforms]

  • This hotfix will help mitigate an issue where players could encounter an infinite loading screen when saving a Quick Upgrade in the Builders Cup Intro Series under variable network conditions.

It’s a small but crucial update that should improve the experience for all players. It's a step in the right direction, but a long list of known issues still need resolving in future patches.

The update is available to download now on Xbox Series X | S and PC, so, you should be prompted to download it when you fire up Forza Motorsport.

Car progression changes

Last week’s 1.0 patch was a more substantial update. Most notably, the update makes significant changes to the car progression system. Instead of buying upgrades with credits, you unlock them with Car Points by progressing through the Builders Cup and levelling your car up.

Initially, some parts were locked behind level 50, forcing players to grind for XP. In response to player feedback, all car upgrades are unlocked at level 25 instead of 50.
