In short, Forza Motorsport is not playable on Steam Deck. However, that’s not the full story.

Despite being available via Steam, Forza Motorsport is not listed as a Steam Deck Verified title. This means it can be played on a Steam Deck but isn’t officially supported.

Many players have reported that the game crashes when attempting to boot up on a Steam Deck. Even those who have managed to get the game to boot have stated the game suffers from major frame rate issues and stuttering.

Considering how resource-heavy the game is, even when running on PC and Xbox, it seems unlikely that Forza Motorsport will ever be supported on Steam Deck. So unfortunately, it seems as though the racing won’t be as mobile as some players would like.

There is some hope though, as Forza Horizon 5 is listed as playable on Steam Deck. It isn't verified though, so players may still experience issues.

Forza Motorsport Update 1.0 fixes major issues

Forza Motorsport has received its first major update, fixing several major issues with the game. One of the biggest bugs with the game has finally been addressed, with players no longer losing career progress due to the game crashing.

Along with bug fixes, Update 1.0 also changes how car progression works in the game. Previously players had to grind to level up their cars. Now, players must only reach level 25 to fully unlock all parts for their car.

The progression overhaul also means players can unlock all parts throughout a single Builders Cup series. Players will still need to grind to acquire the needed Car Points, but now you have a lot more choice as to how to upgrade when at lower levels.
