Despite Expeditions: A MudRunner gearing up for release in March, Saber Interactive is still supporting SnowRunner with the release of the new Season 12 Public Energy Expansion.
Coming later this month, SnowRunner’s third expansion brings four new maps set in North Carolina, two new trucks, and a host of new cargo delivery missions for Season 12.
SnowRunner Public Energy Expansion brings new maps and trucks
Returning to the US, the SnowRunner Season 12 Public Energy Expansion sees you hauling cargo and equipment to help develop a power station in North Carolina. Outside of these construction and maintenance missions, you’ll be helping local farmers and institutions and monitoring environmental pollution across four new maps.
Two new vehicles will help you complete these missions: the MTB 8106 Rock Grinder and the FEMM 37-AT. The MTB 8106 boasts high ground clearance and an upgradable engine for superior fuel efficiency, making it ideal for pulling scout trailers.
The FEMM 37-AT, on the other hand, is a heavy-duty truck capable of handling rougher terrain.
SnowRunner Season 12 Public Energy Expansion release date
SnowRunner Season 12 Public Energy will be released on 31 January on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac. Year 3 Pass and 3-Year Anniversary Edition owners can download the expansion for free, or it will be available separately with pricing yet to be confirmed.
A free update will also add a set of ten new stickers for all players. Public Energy is the final season of the Year 3 Pass following Renew & Rebuild, Fix & Connect, and Lights & Cameras.
Year 4 Pass
With Expeditions: a MudRunner game releasing in March, there were fears that Public Energy would be SnowRunner’s last season update. This is not the case, however, with Focus Interactive confirming SnowRunner is getting a Year 4 Pass containing four more seasons. Fans will be pleased to know this means SnowRunner's seasonal updates will continue throughout 2024 and possibly into early 2025.
Supporting a four-year-old game when Expeditions is around the corner might sound surprising. However, Expeditions is a scouting spin-off rather than a mainline sequel, and SnowRunner is still very popular.
