The Yas Marina Circuit is famous for hosting the final race of the F1 season. If you're heading to Yas Marina still with a chance of winning the title, our F1 23 Abu Dhabi setup will take you to glory.
Update: If you're looking for F1 24 setups, you can find the best F1 24 Abu Dhabi setup here.
F1 23 Abu Dhabi setup
Yas Marina is a tricky one to get right. With three long flat-out blasts and more than a couple of awkward corners and clunky moments, it's a track that reminds us of a technical circuit like Mexico or Spain.
With multiple updates since F1 23's release, the meta for setups has changed considerably. With that in mind, here is our updated setup for Abu Dhabi.
Aerodynamics
We've gone with 32-28 for the aerodynamics in Abu Dhabi.
This will give the required slipstream effect for the straights, whilst keeping the required front downforce for the corners.
Transmission
This part of the setup is all about how the rear wheels are allowed to rotate.
We have gone with a 52% on-throttle and 50% off-throttle. This provides a very stable acceleration base while giving you plenty of rotation in the corners.
Suspension geometry
We like a front camber of -2.50 with the rear camber at -1.00. This helps maintain speed down the lengthy back straights.
The front toe is set to 0.03 and the rear toe to 0.14. This will help kick the front end round the slower corners.
Suspension
We've gone for 26-8 on the suspension and 7-2 for the anti-roll bars. This provides a strong platform for the slower corners, in particular the clunky chicane.
The ride height is set to 34-37. This is as low as you can get away with on this track and will let you ride kerbs, just mind the larger ones.
Brakes
We are going with 100% brake pressure and 55% brake bias for this Abu Dhabi setup.
This is mainly to get you stopped into the tricky corners at the end of the long straights.
Tyres
We've gone with 23.1 PSI on the front tyres and 20.4 PSI for the rears.
This will keep them in the ideal temperature window for Abu Dhabi. Yas Marina is tough on the tyres and is usually a two-stopper in longer races, but these settings will keep your rubber in good shape.
Adjustments
These setups are intended for intermediate players who may still be using assists like traction control and ABS. However, if you are looking for an extra edge then you can try a few of these adjustments:
- Decrease the wing levels by 1-3 clicks to improve top speed
- This will make the car less capable on turn-in and less stable in high-speed direction changes
- If the car doesn't feel like it is doing what you want on turn-in then raise the front wing a click or two
- If the car is too loose at low speeds try moving the off-throttle differential up a point or two for more stability
- For a more "pointy" car stiffen the front suspension & anti-roll bar in relation to the rear
- This will make getting traction trickier
- Don't be afraid to move brake bias during the lap. More frontward will give better performance in heavy braking zones, and a rearward for lighter braking zones
- Lockups are easier to achieve in F1 23 than previous games. Front locking is less catastrophic than rear locking, and which way you go from our mark will increase your chances of a lockup in that direction
- Add a click of tyre pressure for short online races to improve tyre warm-up!
