Want to know everything that happened in the world of racing games this week? Our latest weekly roundup will get you up to speed.
This week, we finally got a first look at F1 23, Gran Turismo 7's latest content update rolled out and a new Forza Horizon 5 Series.
First look at F1 23
The wait for this year’s F1 game is nearly over. After months of silence, EA gave us a first look at F1 23 in a teaser trailer.
Presented like an official F1 car reveal, the trailer focuses on a fictional racing team known as Konnersport Racing, suggesting that the Braking Point story mode will return.
We also learn that old nemesis Devon Butler will be driving for Konnersport - will he make his live-action debut in F1 23?
The lights will go out next week as EA confirmed F1 23's reveal "begins" on 1 May.
Gran Turismo 7 April update adds 4 new cars
Gran Turismo 7’s latest content update is here. April’s update adds four new cars to GT7’s roster including the Dallara SF23 racecar, along with new GT Café Menu books and World Circuits races. Sadly, there are no new tracks, but Fuji has been given a refresh.
You can find out more in the Gran Turismo 7 update 1.32 patch notes.
Forza Horizon 5 High Performance Series
Forza Horizon 5 also received a substantial update this week with the start of the new High Performance Series.
With four new track-performance cars including the electrifying Porsche Mission R and a new Horizon Stadium Oval, the High Performance Series will satisfy your need for speed.
In other racing game news…
At the same time as the F1 23 teaser, Frontier Developments quietly announced F1 Manager 2023 is in development, revealing the game’s logo. This isn’t surprising as F1 Manager is an annual series, but this is the first confirmation that F1 Manager 2023 is in development. More details will be announced soon, so watch this space.
While we’re waiting for more news on Forza Motorsport, Turn 10 provided an update on the game’s release window. Forza Motorsport is also set to be the most accessible entry in the series yet thanks to a revolutionary assist for blind players.
Remember Stuntfest – World Tour? The “stunt royale” demolition derby racer has been renamed as Jected – World Tour (no, we’re not sold on the new name either) and is smashing onto Steam Early Access next week. Best of all, it’s going to be free-to-play for everyone.
