Is Forza Motorsport Open-World

Forza Motorsport has hit the grid, and with it comes a lot of questions. From which platforms you can play on, to which tracks and cars are present, there are plenty of questions on players’ minds. Here's one of the biggest questions: Is Forza Motorsport open world?

Is Forza Motorsport open-world?

Unfortunately, Forza Motorsport is not open world. Instead, Forza Motorsport restricts the racing to the track. This means there are no opportunities to get out of the car or explore the world between each circuit.

What Forza Motorsport lacks in exploring the world is more than made up for by the detail of every track. Dynamic weather and time-of-day cycles, trees that respond to the season you’re racing in, and even running water in nearby rivers help create an immersive world for players to throw themselves into.

For players looking for an open-world experience, Forza Motorsport’s sister franchise Forza Horizon is the one for you.

Forza Horizon is all about celebrating racing, with the Horizon Festival so far travelling to the USA, Australia, Scotland, and now Mexico in Forza Horizon 5. You still can’t get out of the car in Forza Horizon 5, but you can explore the beautifully crafted Mexican landscape at the wheel of your favourite car. This is the main difference between Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport.

Forza Motorsport Update 1.0 makes huge change to car progression

Forza Motorsport’s revolutionary car upgrade system rips up the rulebook. The game doesn’t throw cars at players, instead encouraging them to buy and upgrade their wheels and bond with their vehicles.

Update 1.0 to Forza Motorsport has made a big change to the car upgrade system, but definitely for the better.

Before Update 1.0 landed, various car parts were locked behind higher levels. This forced players to grind races to earn the XP needed to unlock better parts. Update 1.0 brings down the required level for each part, meaning players can unlock all available parts throughout a single Builders Cup series.

Players still need to grind to earn the Car Points needed to max out a car, but the choice of parts is greatly increased thanks to the update.

Update 1.0 to Forza Motorsport fixes far more than just upgrading cars. Click here to read the full Forza Motorsport Update 1.0 patch notes.
