Assetto Corsa Evo is speeding its way toward the grid, with fans looking to learn everything they can about the newest track sim racer. One of the most requested features of any modern track racer is the ability to race in virtual reality, with VR adding an incredible amount of immersion.
So will Assetto Corsa Evo have VR support?
Living the race
Racing in VR is an experience that every sim racer needs to have at least once. Throwing players right into the heart of the action, VR creates that extra element that can never be matched by racing on a simple screen.
Being able to turn your head to watch out for rivals sending it up the inside, or even just being able to watch the apex during a long corner can enhance your racing ability. This helps you live the race as well as compete in it.
VR is already supported in a multitude of sim racing titles, including the original Assetto Corsa. So will the evolution of sim racing allow players to go racing in virtual reality?
Will Assetto Corsa Evo have VR support?
For fans wanting to experience Assetto Corsa Evo in VR, we have good news. Assetto Corsa Evo will support VR, meaning players can dive right into the heart of sim racing.
Not only that, but the game will have VR from launch, with no wait required before strapping on the headset. This was revealed in an interview with Kunos Simulazioni founder Marco Massarutto published by Italian magazine Multiplayer.it. "Let’s say that…The VR fans [can be] rest assured,” he said, confirming that Assetto Corsa Evo will have VR support from "day zero."
This will of course require a powerful sim racing rig to run the game at its full potential. Kunos Simulazioni has revealed the PC system requirements in order to experience Assetto Corsa Evo at the best it can be.
In an age where fans are used to waiting for peripheral features like VR to be added in post-launch patches, it’s encouraging to see Kunos Simulazioni supporting VR from day one. Even if the track and car list is limited to begin with, being able to experience them all in VR makes it all worth it.
