F1 22 adds 2023 Alfa Romeo C43 car and livery

Development of F1 23 is full speed ahead, but that doesn’t mean Codemasters is stopping support for F1 22. Over the last few weeks, F1 teams have presented their new racing liveries and cars ahead of the 2023 season, previewing the cars we’ll be driving in F1 23.

While you won’t win any prizes spotting the difference between the Red Bull RB19 and last year’s car, Mercedes is back in black.

Alfa Romeo, however, was the first team to show off its new F1 challenger. In a surprise update, you can now race the new 2023 Alfa Romeo C43 car in F1 22.

2023 Alfa Romeo C43 car and livery now available in F1 22

Ahead of the pre-season testing event starting later this week, Codemasters has added the Alfa Romeo F1 Team 2023 C43 car and livery to F1 22. From today, you can test drive Alfa Romeo’s 2023-spec car in Time Trial mode only.

An evolution of last year’s model that finished P6 in the 2022 Constructor’s Championship, Alfa Romeo’s new 2023 C43 car sports a striking red and black design.

The rear axis, rear suspension and gearbox casing are also reworked, though you probably won’t these changes in F1 22. This will likely only be a cosmetic update, so don’t expect it to represent how the C43 drives.

It will be driven by Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu before Alfa Romeo’s partnership with Sauber ends this year, with Audi taking over the partnership as a works team from 2026.

“Pre-season testing is a highly anticipated moment in the Formula 1 calendar and the first opportunity for fans to see how the new cars perform on the grid,” said John Merchant, F1 Global Brand Director at EA SPORTS.

“We’re delighted to become part of the 2023 re-start by giving our players the opportunity to be the first to race and test the C43.”

Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director of Sauber Group and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Representative, added: “Fans mean everything to us, and to be able to give them the chance to drive our new Alfa Romeo F1 Team C43 before they even see it on track in real life is something that was never done before in the official F1 video games.”

“We’re proud to be at the leading edge of this pioneering approach, but this is not the whole story: we have a lot more in store, planned for the season, and we can’t wait to show you.”
