GT7 Daily Races 25 March: Spa treatment

The end of March has arrived and Update 1.44 is on the way, but before then there is a new set of GT7 Daily Races to enjoy.

This week sees Gran Turismo 7 embrace endurance racing with an epic race at Spa. Partnered with that are two races in America that will bring some excellent wheel-to-wheel action.

Race A

Willow Springs - Horse Thief Mile - 5 laps

The first race this week takes us to the hairpin-heavy layout of Willow Springs for 5 laps in the Mazda Eunos Roadster (NA) '89.

This 12-car race will use a grid start to get underway, and everyone will be on the Comfort Medium tyre. There is 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear for this race.

Everyone will use a low-speed BoP, with no further adjustments allowed. As is customary for Race A, DR is switched off but SR will still be tracking your performance.

There is light mechanical damage along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions with other cars.

Race B

Grand Valley - Highway 1 - 4 laps

The next race is a classic. Four laps around the main layout of Grand Valley in Gr.4 cars.

The 16-car field will use a rolling start, so qualifying will be important to avoid starting way back from the leader. Each car will be on the Racing Medium tyre and there is 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear.

Everyone will be using a mid-speed BoP, with only brake balance adjustments allowed. Both DR & SR are on for this event.

There is light mechanical damage along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions with other cars as well as walls.

Race C

Spa - 24h Layout - 20 laps

The final race this week is an epic one. 20 laps of Spa in Gr.3 cars. Timed with the start of the WEC season, this one should be a true test of endurance in Gran Turismo 7.

Each car will be on the Racing Medium tyre, and there is a mandatory pitstop to make. There is 2x fuel consumption and 4x tyre wear in this race, so keeping those mediums in good condition will be key to this race.

Everyone will be using a high-speed BoP, with only brake balance adjustments allowed. DR & SR will be switched on for this race, and as previously mentioned you will need to make at least 1 pitstop in this race.

There is light mechanical damage along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions with other cars. There is also a penalty for cutting the pitlane lines so be sure to stay on the correct side when entering and exiting the pits.

Update 1.44

The usual end-of-the-month update has once again been teased by Kazunori Yamauchi.

His silhouette tweet shows three cars, the minimum we have had in updates for Gran Turismo 7. These cars are headlined by the Toyota GT-One, a Gran Turismo classic and a car the community have been asking for since the game first launched.

We anticipate it to be the 1998 GT1 car to fit into Gr.1, but that is unclear from the picture.

The other cars should be the second-generation Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Urus. The latter has been added to other games like Forza Horizon 5 and featured heavily in the marketing for The Crew Motorfest, but it marks the first SUV in Gran Turismo 7.

That's all we know for certain right now, but it has been over a year since we last got a new road circuit (Grand Valley Highway), so a new track would be greatly appreciated by everyone.

The update should go live on the morning of Thursday 28 March.
