GT7 Daily Races 25 September: Long lap racing

A new week means new GT7 Daily Races for players to enjoy. The weekly Sport Mode refresh is the most reliable piece of gameplay in Gran Turismo 7 at the moment, as players wait for a meaningful update to the game rather than just a few new cars and Scapes locations.

So what does Sport Mode have to offer this week? Let's take a look!

Race A

Lago Maggiore - West Reverse - 4 laps

This week's unranked race takes us to Lago Maggiore for four laps around the west reverse layout in the Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro '03. The 12-car field will utilise a grid start, with drivers on the Comfort Soft tyre. There is 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear for this race.

Every car will use a mid-speed BoP and both DR & SR are off for this race.

There is light mechanical damage, along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions.

Race B

Kyoto - Yamagiwa - 5 laps

The first ranked race takes us to the long layout of Kyoto Driving Park to do five laps in Gr. 3 cars. The 16-car field will use a rolling start, so be sure to get a qualifying lap in!

Everyone will be on the Racing Hard tyre, and there is 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear.

Everyone will use a mid-speed BoP for this race, but brake balance adjustments are allowed.

There is light mechanical damage, along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions.

Race C

Le Mans - 5 laps

The final race of the week is a bit of a disappointment, as it is Gr.2 cars at Le Mans, but without any fun additions. The 16-car field will use a rolling start, while everyone will need to use the Racing Medium tyre. There is just 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear for the race, with no mandatory pit stop.

Every car will use a high-speed BoP, with brake balance changes allowed. There is light mechanical damage, along with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions.

Update 1.38

This weekend saw the traditional teaser tweet from Kazunori Yamauchi, letting everyone know that an update is coming to Gran Turismo 7! This one will be update 1.38 and the first proper update since the start of August.

The silhouette tease shows three cars, but fans have already figured out what's coming. The first is the Mazda 3 Bio Concept which will slot into the Gr.4 category.

Next is Honda Civic Type R FL5 model, giving us a fourth generation of Civic Type R in GT7. The final car is another Civic, but specifically Phil Robles' Honda Civic, otherwise known as the Garage RCR Civic.

This is all that we know about the update so far, but there is hope that a new track will arrive too, as it has been six months since Grand Valley was released. Fans also hold out hope that new Missions will be added to the game, but providing actual content doesn't seem to be something Polyphony is interested in when it comes to supporting Gran Turismo 7.

The update is set to arrive on Thursday 28 September and should go live around 10am BST.
