How to use the clutch in Gran Turismo Sport

Gran Turismo Sport is a perfect title for players to advance their driving skills on console.

One such advanced feature is moving away from automatic gears, which of course, requires a clutch.

If you have a wheel with a shifter, chances are you want to use your clutch. Let's look into doing that now!

Using your clutch

Firstly, it goes without saying that you will need a shifter. If you use the paddles on your wheel, then the clutch will no longer be useful.

CLOSE ACTION: Use manual gears if you want to be at the front of the pack!

In addition, there are certain vehicles, such as those with double clutches, where a clutch can never be used.

Other than that, you simply have to ensure that your wheel and pedals are selected in options. Paddle shift will be selected automatically, so when in-game, simply step on the clutch pedal to change over to full manual mode!

Driving manual

The clutch is used for playing manually on GT Sport, and with a shifter. If you wish to use paddles, the game must also be set to manual.

TIME FOR MANUAL: Manual gears really upgrades your racing performance!

To do so, simply jump into settings, and under assists, change transmission to manual.

This will then put you in charge of changing the gears as you race around. It also makes both car selection and the setup very important!
