Assetto Corsa Evo Release Date: When is Assetto Corsa 2 Coming Out?

Latest news: Assetto Corsa Evo Steam page confirms 2024 release

Assetto Corsa Evo's Steam page is now live, bringing news on the game's release date. Although fans are still waiting for an official release date to be revealed, the page does promise it will be in 2024.

This might not be the news fans had been hoping for, but at least we know the game will be arriving within the next few months. For now, screenshots on the Steam page have given us our first proper look at the upcoming track sim.

From revealing the first car manufacturers included, to showcasing some of the tracks on offer, fans can start building the hype ahead of Assetto Corsa Evo's release.

Assetto Corsa Evo release date

Despite the game's Steam page now being live, we still don't have a confirmed release date for Assetto Corsa Evo yet. However, we do know the game will launch some time between now and the end of the year.

The Steam page shows a release window of 2024. This shows no signs of being pushed back further, meaning we are now a matter of months away from release.

Originally slated for a Spring 2024 release window, Assetto Corsa Evo was delayed to give Kunos Simulazioni more time to work on Assetto Corsa Competizione's Season 2024 GT World Challenge DLC pack, which sees the highly requested Nurburgring Nordschleife join the track roster.

Digital Bros (the parent company of Assetto Corsa developer Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games) confirmed that Asseto Corsa Evo was set for a Summer 2024 release.

This means the game could still arrive in August or early September to still meet this target. Assetto Corsa Evo will initially launch in early access on PC.

Platforms

The Summer 2024 release window only applies to the PC version. Digital Bros confirmed that Assetto Corsa Evo will initially get a Steam Early Access release.

As for other platforms, a console release is planned in the "long-term", but no release window is set. Going by the last two games, console players will probably need to wait at least an extra year to play Assetto Corsa 2.

Console platforms are yet to be confirmed, but it's safe to assume Assetto Corsa 2 will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and skip the last-gen consoles. This will allow Kunos to fully utilise the power of the current-gen consoles.

New engine

Unfortunately, not much else is known about Assetto Corsa Evo at this stage. However, we do know that Assetto Corsa Evo will be built on a brand-new in-house engine rather than Unreal Engine 5.

This was also the case for the original game but not Assetto Corsa Competizione, which utilizes Unreal Engine 4.

We also expect Assetto Corsa Evo to focus on road cars as well as thoroughbred racing cars. This means the car roster will have more variety than Assetto Corsa Competizione, which only includes GT racing cars, allowing Assetto Corsa 2 to compete with Gran Turismo 7 and Forza Motorsport on consoles.

As for platforms, PC will once again be the primary platform and will likely allow for modding support. Console ports will follow after at an unspecified date to bring Assetto Corsa Evo to a broader audience.
