Because of the success of Assetto Corsa Competizione, a new AC title was always going to be on the way.
Assetto Corsa 2 is in development, but when is the new sim coming out? Here's everything we know about the Assetto Corsa 2 release date.
Assetto Corsa 2 release date
Assetto Corsa 2 doesn't have a specific release date yet. However, in 2021 a monthly report by Digital Bros (the parent company of (the parent company of Assetto Corsa developer Kunos Simulazioni and publisher 505 Games)' stated that Assetto Corsa 2 will be released in 2024 and is currently "in development".
Since then, the release window has been narrowed down to Spring 2024.
“The second version of Assetto Corsa is currently in development and its launch is scheduled for Spring 2024,” Digital Bros said in its half-year financial statement.

That's still a long time to wait, but Assetto Corsa continues to enjoy modding support from the community. Likewise, Assetto Corsa Competizione has received a plethora of DLC cars and tracks to keep the game fresh.
New engine
Unfortunately, not much else is known about Assetto Corsa 2 at this stage. However, we do know that Assetto Corsa 2 will be built on a brand-new in-house engine rather than Unreal Engine 5.

This was also the case for the original game but not Assetto Corsa Competizione, which utilises Unreal Engine 4.
We also expect Assetto Corsa 2 to focus on road cars as well as thoroughbred racing cars. This means the car roster will have more variety than Assetto Corsa Competizione, which only includes GT racing cars.
As for platforms, PC will likely be the primary platform to allow for modding support. Console ports will likely follow at a later date to bring Assetto Corsa 2 to a broader audience.
