Is F1 Manager 2022 the same as F1 2022?

With there only being one official Formula 1 game previously, it's only natural to wonder whether F1 Manager 2022 is the same as F1 2022.

Is F1 Manager 2022 the same as F1 2022?

F1 22 is an official game of the 2022 Formula 1 season, developed by Codemasters and published by EA. F1 Manager 2022 is the other official F1 game for this year's season.

They aren't the same game, despite the similar names and themes.

F1 22 is a bona fide simulation/arcade racing game where you both manage your team and drive your team's car. F1 22 also has multiplayer, time trial and supercar hot laps modes, amongst others.

F1 Manager 2022 centres solely around you managing one of the grid's ten teams. You won't be able to drive the car, but you'll be able to affect strategy and decisions from the pit wall, just like real life.

Which should I buy?

F1 22 is a great game and one we've really enjoyed playing since it released earlier this year. F1 Manager 2022 isn't out yet, but we really like the look of this one too.

If you're going to choose one to buy, you should really consider both options. Of course, you can get both, there's nothing stopping you from doing that, as both are available on PC and home console.

If you're wanting to get in the car and drive a season of Formula 1, then F1 22 is your best bet. If you're wanting to experience something different, by "driving" the strategy from the pit wall, F1 Manager 2022 is a good idea.

It's similar to the choice between FIFA and Football Manager (if they were both of similar quality). One thing's for sure though, both F1 22 and F1 Manager 2022 provide different and impressive viewpoints of the sport we love.
