Gran Turismo 7 PS4: New footage confirms GT7 will not be on old console
It’s bad news for those without the next-gen console, but great news for the game itself.
A recent PS5 game trailer has got plenty of gamers around the world excited. With glimpses of Godfall and Horizon Forbidden West it is certainly exciting.
However, what has our blood pumping is the extra few glimpses of Gran Turismo 7.
It has also confirmed something we had hoped would be true.
Gran Turismo 7 PS5 exclusive
The newest trailer only shows us a tiny bit of new GT7 footage, but it’s enough to give us a look at a new car (That 911!) and some sponsors, which suggest there will be a lot of customisation for players.
However, plastered all over the footage for GT7 is “PlayStation 5 Exclusive”.
This is sure to break the hearts of those still waiting to move up to the next-gen console.
However, it is likely a good thing for the game overall.
Not being held back
The sheer power of the next-gen consoles have been the talking point of 2020, and now they are out we’ve been left in no doubt what they are capable of.
The fact that GT7 will be developed solely with the PS5 in mind and not have to also be playable on the PS4 is a huge boost to its quality.
We all remember some of the missteps Polyphony has made in previous cross-over years and the fact that they have learned from these and decided to go the route on PS5 exclusivity is terrific.
Gran Turismo 7 release date
The footage also states that GT7 will be released in 2021.
This is slightly different to a previous video that stated early 2021. However, that was then changed to “in development”.
It looks like a delay has occurred somewhere in the development, but they are still looking to release GT7 in 2021 which is good news.
