The hours are counting down until release, but the biggest worry for players is what Gran Turismo 7 will be like on PS4 compared to PS5.
GT7 was originally branded as a PS5 exclusive, but thanks to the continued shortage of new consoles Sony and Polyphony decided to release the game on PS4 as well.
This is the first time a Gran Turismo game will be released across two generations of PlayStation. How will Polyphony cope with the challenge? Let's take a look.

Gran Turismo 7 PS4 vs PS5
If you are lucky enough to have a PS5 at home, you probably aren't too worried about what the game will be like on PS4.
For the millions who are still gaming away on the older console though, this is a vital moment.
We're now able to share with you visual comparisons and reviews, so here's how we experienced the game on the two consoles.
A joint journey
The PS4 version of Gran Turismo 7 has every single gameplay feature that the PS5 version has. There is no skimping or corner-cutting going on here.
You can even hop between PS4 and PS5 and carry over your save file with ease. Because the game is always online your save file can just carry over without a problem. The only delay is the game making sure you are logged out of the server on your previous console so it can log you in on the new one.
BEST WHEELS FOR GRAN TURISMO 7
Otherwise everything is seamless when moving between. This is excellent news for those still planning to get a PS5 one day. There will be no need to start your Gran Turismo 7 journey all over again!
Graphics
The biggest downside comes in the visuals of Gran Turismo 7.
Polyphony has pushed the limits of lighting and environments on the PS5 for racing. While there is no ray tracing when you are behind the wheel, GT7 looks stunning on PS5. The downgrade is fairly clear when you switch over to PS4.
That being said, PS4 players won't be moving back and forth like we did. The PS4 graphics, while a step down, are still perfectly useable and an improvement on GT Sport.

There is a lower framerate for PS4, but again this is hardly crucial to the racing experience of most players.
Gran Turismo 7 on PS4 is a far better experience than we were worried it would be. There is no repeat of Cyberpunk 2077 here. Just a smooth game that lets you experience the classic Gran Turismo gameplay as it was meant to be.
Of course, you do have to put up with much longer load times, but that is the norm.
Release date
Gran Turismo 7 goes on general release on 4 March 2022. That is just days away.
There is no early access, but the 25th Anniversary Edition does come with a suite of extras for players to help them on their Gran Turismo 7 journey.
