Disney Speedstorm Characters: Frozen's Elsa, Hans, Olaf & more All Join in Season 5

Disney Speedstorm has arrived, but which characters can you go racing with right now? The new kart racing title has massive potential given the huge library of iconic characters developers Gameloft have to work with.

Disney characters have fans of all ages around the globe, so we can expect to see an ever-expanding library of characters in-game. We're currently on Season 5, which has added characters from the world of Frozen to Speedstorm.

So, who can you expect to go racing with if you dive into Disney Speedstorm? Let's take a look!

Latest news - Frozen Characters Added in Season 5

With us now in December and winter being upon us, it makes sense for Speedstorm to add content from the cold world of Frozen. You'll be able to race around the new snowy mountainous track inspired by the world of Frozen.

On the characters front, Elsa, Anna, Hans, Kristoff and Olaf are all prominently featured in the trailer, alongside new cars and outfits to collect.

Sven the Reindeer also makes an appearance, but only as an attack to impact your opponents. Season 5 also brings Wall-E to Speedstorm via a dedicated time limited event.

Season 4: Aladdin

You're able to join a whole new world thanks to Disney Speedstorm's Aladdin update in Season 4. Back in September, "The Cave of Wonders" was added to Speedstorm, which included Aladdin, Jasmine, Jafar and everybody's favourite Genie to the game.

There was also a new track based on the Middle Eastern-based movie, as well as new power-ups and vehicles. Gaston (Beauty and The Beast) & Hades (Hercules) were both also added as mid-season updates between Seasons 3 and 4.

Season 3: Lilo & Stitch

After Season 2's Toy Story theme, Disney Speedstorm Season 3 was released. This brought Lilo & Stitch characters to Disney's kart racer. In Season 3, Lilo, Stitch, Captain Gantu and Angel were all added from the popular animation.

As well as Lilo & Stitch characters, Daisy Duck and Minnie Mouse joined the character roster. Starting on 1 August, Season 3 also brought new rewards, a new Starter Circuit as well as a host of bug fixes.

Season 2: Toy Story characters

Toy Story fans rejoice: Season 2 brought four fan-favourite characters from the popular Pixar animated series to Disney Speedstorm.

Season 2 - To Infinity and Beyond added Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, and Jessie to the character roster along with Andy's Room as a new racing environment.

As well as four Toy Story characters, a midseason update brought Steamboat Mickey & Steamboat Pete alongside two new game modes: Follow the Leader and Colour Match.

As it's based on Mickey's debut in the 1928 animation film Steamboat Willie, the character is black and white, which is a nice touch.

Season 1 New Character

Figment the dragon is a character from Walt Disney World, not a Disney film or TV franchise. It's an odd choice for a first addition to the game, but it was a welcome one to those lucky enough to have visited the Magic Kingdom in real-life.

Disney Speedstorm Base Characters

Disney Speedstorm is now out and available to all players, so we know which characters are included in the game for free. Some characters are also voiced by the original voice actors to capture their personalities.

Character wishlist

We obviously won't see all of the enormous list of Disney-Pixar characters within the game as there are so many, but there are some particular ones we'd love to see.

The most obvious series to pick is Pixar's Cars, but how that would work with Lightning McQueen and co. already being cars isn't clear. Other Pixar series we'd like to see get an inclusion include The Incredibles and Inside Out.

Disney owns a lot of other IPs besides their own and Pixar's characters. Star Wars, Marvel, and Fox all fall under Disney's umbrella of subsidiaries.

So, in theory, we could have Captain America racing against Darth Vader later this year. Is this likely to happen though? Well, it's hard to say, but given these other series haven't had a mention since, it's unlikely.
