After what seems like an eternity of waiting, Rennsport has finally entered its open beta. Now fans all around the world can hop into the latest track racer thanks to the Beta Update 1.9.0.

Let’s find out what’s in store in Rennsport’s open beta.

Ultimate racing

Rennsport is the ultimate racing experience. German for "motor racing," Rennsport aims to be “the most realistic racing simulation possible” according to developers Competition Company and Teyon.

Built on Unreal Engine 5, the game showcases a small range of highly detailed GT3 cars around a handful of meticulously laser-scanned circuits. The game is set to rival Assetto Corsa Competizione and the soon-to-be-released Assetto Corsa Evo for the title of best track racer.

Along with the developer-made cars and tracks, Rennsport will also include modding support. This will allow the game to evolve beyond the resources that Teyon can provide.

Until recently, Rennsport has only been available to a small selection of players due to its closed beta status. Despite key drops taking place regularly, a large portion of players were excluded from getting behind the wheel. That’s all now changed with the launch of Rennsport’s open beta.

Open pit lane

Today (July 10) sees the beginning of Rennsport’s open beta. Thanks to Beta Update 1.9.0, the game is now accessible to all players ready to hit the track.

Along with opening the pit lane to all, the update also adds additional new content to the sim title. This includes a new track and three new cars for players to rack up the laps in, as well as VR support.

The Nurburgring Nordschleife 24 Hour layout expands the minimal track list, though it's only available by purchasing one of the Founders Packs. For the cars, the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport, BMW M4 GT4, and Audi R8 LMS GT4 increase the car count.

There are also a series of track improvements, game optimizations, and new features included in the patch. These, based on previous player feedback, are targeted at enhancing the overall playing experience for new and returning racers.
