Is F1 24 on PS4? With the 2024 Formula 1 game being officially announced, F1 gamers will be wondering if this title will be coming out on the PlayStation 4.
Ahead of the real-life 2024 F1 season getting underway, EA Sports and Codemasters dropped the F1 24 Announcement Trailer. While the full reveal will come in April, this trailer provided us with a lot of information.
This includes confirmation on whether F1 24 will be released on last-gen systems such as the PS4.
Is F1 24 on PS4?
The PlayStation 4 is getting on in age now, turning a decade old last year and it will be 11 years old later in 2024. Despite this and the PlayStation 5 being readily available, the PS4 is still seeing major games released on it.
This is partly down to the PS4 being so popular, as it's sold over 100 million units. Compare that with the PS5's 50 million and it's easy to see why the PS4 is still having games released on it.
F1 23 was released on PS4, but the jury was out as to whether F1 24 would also be available on the old hardware. The announcement trailer came alongside news that F1 24 will be released on PS4.
So, if you've not upgraded to a PS5 system yet, you won't need to in order to play F1 24!
F1 24 PS4 Gameplay
Despite not having the same specs as the PS5, the PS4 can play games in impressive clarity. The original PS4 model will be able to output F1 24 in 1080p full HD and a frame rate of between 30 and 60 FPS.
If you have a PS4 Pro, you'll be able to play F1 24 in 4K UHD and a frame rate of between 30 and 60. This is all dependent on the specs of your TV/ Monitor as well.
Unfortunately, the PS4 won't have the level of haptic feedback you're used to if you're a PS5 player. If you have a racing wheel and pedals, though, you should be able to enjoy the same levels of immersion and realism as usual.
F1 24 Price
Video games have gotten a lot more expensive in recent years, so has F1 24's price increased from F1 23? If you choose to pre-purchase the game on the PlayStation Store, you'll be able to play on both PS4 and PS5.
So, there's no discount for being a PS4 player, at least with a digital copy. The Standard version of F1 24 is currently available to be pre-orders for £69.99 in the UK. That will come with 5,000 PitCoin and a F1 World Starter Pack.
The Champions Edition on PS4/PS5 is currently going for £89.99 on the pre-order market in the UK. Prices and retailers can vary depending on which country/ territory you're based in.
So, the prices as they stand are the same as last year, but there are a few ways to save. Those who are EA Play subscribers will get a 10% discount on both versions of the game.
Loyalty also pays too, as players who own any of F1 2021, F1 22 or F1 23 will receive a 15% discount on the price of the F1 24 Champions Edition.
F1 24 Release Date and Trailer
F1 24 will launch worldwide on the earlier than normal date of 31st May. This is the release date for all console systems, including the PS4.
If you pre-order the Champions Edition of the game, you'll gain three days' of early access from 28th May. This will be in addition to the 18,000 PitCoin you'll earn for F1 World.
