After Gran Turismo 7 dominated the console racing scene in 2022, 2023 looks set to be the year of Forza Motorsport.

Latest news – Forza Motorsport reportedly delayed to second half of 2022
With no release date announced at Developer_Direct, industry insider Jeff Grubb claims that Forza Motorsport is delayed to the second half of the year.
In a podcast, the industry insider says Forza Motorsport's release will "slip later into the year and probably won’t be the first half of the year.”
Forza Motorsport shines at Developer_Direct
Xbox's latest games showcase gave Turn 10 Studios a chance to lift the lid on Forza Motorsport and give their fans something to be excited by, and boy did they do that.
Turn 10 Studios was able to confirm the size of the Forza Motorsport car list along with the number of locations players will be driving in.
There was also great detail about the visual modeling, damage, and dynamic world of Forza Motorsport. But what about when we can all play this amazing title?
Forza Motorsport release date
Announced "in early stages of development" in July 2020, all eyes have been on 2023 for Forza Motorsport.
The game was given a release window in late 2022 of Spring 2023, but the latest sighting of Forza Motorsport seems to backtrack on this.
At January's Developer_Direct, a slide showed simply "coming 2023" for the game.
It seemingly walks back from that spring 2023 window in a quiet but meaningful way.
Since then, industry insider Jeff Grubb has claimed that the release is pushed back until the second half of 2023. This is a huge letdown for players everywhere.
Early access
Most games release multiple editions, at least one of which has early access. Will Forza Motorsport be the same? Well, it seems unlikely.
Forza Motorsport will be available from Day 1 on Xbox Game Pass, meaning many players simply won't be buying the game.
However, this was true for Forza Horizon 5 and which still offered a premium edition of the game with early access.
For Game Pass subscribers there was a pack you could buy that was effectively the price gap between the standard and premium edition of the game that would unlock FH5 for Game Pass players early.
We might see a similar system for Forza Motorsport, but with a more focused push to new consoles and hardcore racers it doesn't feel right to separate out like that.
Will Forza Motorsport be on Xbox One?
You will need, at minimum, an Xbox Series S to play Forza Motorsport. That console will be able to give you Forza Motorsport at 1080p/60fps, but if you want the full 4k/60 experience you will need an Xbox Series X.
Xbox One owners aren't left out either. Forza Motorsport will be playable on Xbox One, but you'll need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream it on Xbox Cloud Gaming beta.
Forza Motorsport will be available on PC as well, while of course PlayStation players will be missing out on this title.
